		What's Ye Mystic Krewe of Neptune All About? The first Krewes were established more than 300 years ago in Mobile, Alabama to celebrate Mardi Gras. Over 100 years ago, Tampa's Krewe of Gasparilla was formed and began producing the first Gasparilla celebration, and now continues as an annual tradition today with almost a hundred Krewes in the Tampa Bay area. In today's stressful business environment the Krewe of Neptune provides an opportunity to relax, party and socialize with friends. Whether it's a costume party or black tie affair, you and your spouse or significant other will enjoy the company of others in a wide variety of fun activities every month. It does not take long to develop a strong sense of camaraderie and fellowship in the Krewe - because we are a stimulating group of friendly people. 		Change of Command Saturday, June 2nd The members of YMKN and their guests from across the cosmos will gather to honor our Past Captain, the Board of Directors, and to install our New Captain. The Change of Command attendees will then feel the force for feasting, dancing and other revelry. The event will again be at the Largo Cultural Center, but in the main theater/ballroom. As you enter the building, go to the center of the lobby and pickup your place card for reserving your seat. Location: The Largo Cultural Center is at 105 Central Park Drive, Largo, FL 33771 (727) 587-6751 Schedule of events: The doors open at 6pm for open seating (pick up your place card in the lobby). 6:00 - 6:45 Cocktails in space 6:45 - 7:30 An out-of-this-world ceremony 7:45 - 8:30 Dinner among the planets 8:30 - 11:00 A band for dancing with the stars What to wear: Guys blazers or sports coats, Ladies cocktail dresses. 		Whale Watch 2012 Friday, June 8th - Sunday, June 10th Spend a "boys" weekend with YMKN at beautiful Lido Beach in Sarasota. This area of Florida is known around the world for always having quality whale sightings. If you are planning to arrive by sea, you can park your Jet Skis on the beach overnight, or overnight dock space is available at Marina Jack's for $2 per foot. The weekend is planned as follows: Friday, June 8th Start the weekend fishing the seas with your YMKN brethren. Details will follow based on the show of interest. Saturday, June 9th The main event on beautiful Lido Beach. Cost is $45 and includes an official YMKN 2012 T-shirt, dinner & beverages. Sunday, June 10th Sunday morning play a round before you head home. We will be playing Prestancia, a TPC course. Cost is $56 a round. Need a room? New member Jim Austin arranged a great rate at the Holiday Inn on Lido Beach. Rates are $141 a night for bay-side rooms, or $171 a night for ocean-side rooms. Rooms can be shared, so that works out to about $70 a night per person for a bay-side room. RSVP has been sent out for this event.
