Children's Gasparilla Parade

Attention! Your next YMKN Krewe event includes: Entertainment, prizes, balloons, the US Special Operations Jump Team, tossing beads in a parade and then witnessing one of the largest fireworks presentations in the country! Does this sound like fun or what? – It’s the Gasparilla Children’s Parade extravaganza!

Saturday, January 24th.

1:30 Staging activities
We will have a number of activities and events planned for the kids the day of the parade including an appearance by one of our Krewe's favorite balloon artists, games and prizes, also be part of a YouTube video and two lucky kids from our Krewe will be selected by the King and Queen for the honor of riding up front on the float during the parade with the King and Queen. Food, snacks and sodas will be provided at the staging area.

3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Gasparilla Air Invasion
This features a precision parachute jumping team from the United States Special Operation Jump Team - The Para-Commandos!

3:30 The Children’s Gasparilla Parade Starts
The parade has been a part of Tampa’s Gasparilla celebration since 1947. The Children’s Gasparilla Parade takes place along beautiful Bayshore Boulevard and uses part of the same route as the Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates. In past years, the Children’s Gasparilla Parade included over 100 units, including Krewes, marching bands, and dance units.

7pm The “Pyrotechnic” Extravaganza
Wow! It features one of the largest fireworks presentations in the country. They will re-create the fictitious, “pyrotechnic” sea battle over Hillsborough Bay between the City of Tampa and the Pirates of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla. The 23-minute show is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be accompanied by a choreographed musical soundtrack. The fireworks barge will be located in the middle of the parade route.

We are still working on details for convenient and affordable parking.
